The academic year 2017-18 is upon us and what better way to start the year off than with Year 14s from Aquinas Diocesan Grammar School. Over three days we explored how God Speaks to the Heart. We looked at the symbolism of the heart and each of us explored what it is that fills our heart; what is life-giving and energising for us, because it is in these things that God speaks to each of us. Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.”
We talked of the importance of gratitude in our lives and how we can change the way we look at ourselves, others and the world around us if we focus on all that is, “excellent and worthy of praise.”
We took the time to look for what was “excellent and worthy of praise,” in each other and complimented and affirmed the goodness we saw.
The team here would like to thank each and every young person who attended the retreats and for the lovely affirming comments you left for us in your evaluations, (a few of which you can read below.) It was a blessing to work with you and to learn so much from you and we will be keeping you all in our prayers as you face into a challenging year.
Thoroughly enjoyed the day. Not religious, but I loved taking time to reflect. Loved the book idea. Thank you so much!
I really enjoyed the meditation as it was very relaxing and gave me time to reflect on things I otherwise wouldn’t have.
I really enjoyed this retreat. I loved the meditation and my favourite part was the affirmation booklets. All the women were so helpful and friendly.
