I enjoyed teaching very much and was not looking for a new direction, but when I read the ad for the job of Retreat Facilitator in the De La Salle Pastoral Centre, I was intrigued. I have always been deeply interested in faith and spirituality and I have always loved working with young people and this looked like the perfect opportunity to combine the two. My decision to apply for the job here was also hugely influenced by the very formative and positive Retreat experiences I was fortunate enough to have in my own school days. So I applied for the job and I am so happy that I did.

Working with young people in this context has been a real privilege for me, it has enriched my own life so much. I never take it for granted. This work has led me along some very interesting paths. In the time I have worked here I have completed workshops in Lectio Divina and Guided Prayer in Drumalis and have trained as a Prayer Guide with the Down and Connor Prayer Ministry. All of these experiences have enriched my own faith and helped me in my work. I have learned that being a good Retreat Facilitator means allowing the Holy Spirit to do most of the work.
